Endings and Beginnings

Guess who's back from a long vacation?

Aunt Flo. Gosh I've forgotten how totally inconvenient and disgusting it can be. It came with no warning. I knew it would happen sooner or later but I would've preferred later. I suppose it's my body's way of saying, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

It's been so long that even buying pads is taking a little getting used to. I find myself standing in front of the shelves staring at them, trying to figure out which one to buy.

It's amazing how both sets of parents came to the same conclusion independently: I've not been feeding the baby enough. It's almost as if they had some sort of secret phone call to make sure they said the same thing. I find it rather offending and unjust. The girl is already 11 month and she's eating other things. I don't have to feed her 24/7. But the parents are entitled to their own opinions so I'll just leave it at that.

In less bloody news, the babe can now point to whatever she wants. If she wants to drink water, she'll point to her bottle. If she wants to play with the cat, she'll point to the cat. I must say I'm liking this upgrade very much. It takes the guessing out of our daily life. She's also developing her own opinions too. While I was giving her a bath this evening, I figured she had been in the tub long enough so I wanted to take her out but she had other plans and turned her body away while screaming. Did I mention she has a temper? I tried this several times with no success. She refused to be taken out of the tub. All I could do was wait.

She can walk quite steadily now. My baby is growing up. *sniff* She can also say "kai kai", which means - to go out, in mandarin. After dinner today, she took my head scarf and gave it to me to wear so we could go out "kai kai". Smart girl, this one. It's amazing how she's able to put two and two together. She's only 11 months.

Today I was told I need to plan my life. I do have a plan. It might not be a clearly written out plan but I do have one. I have no desire to go out and join the Malaysian workforce and I'm working towards not working. That's my plan. It might take longer than some would like but I'll get there god willing. I just wish I would be given the chance to do my thing. Can't say too much without being hurtful so I'll just stop at that.

Oh, and can I just say I love Mydin? I just did.

I finished reading two books in 3 days. Quite an accomplishment for me since I've not read any book for the past couple of months. I read - My Best Friends Girl by Dorothy Koomson and For one more day by Mitch Albom. I finished the latter in one evening. I have mixed feelings about the first book and I can really say I loved it. I guess it was an okay read. I think it falls in the chick lit category. I haven't read one of those in ages. The last one I read was Bridget Jone's diary; the second book. That was a long time ago. I loved the book from Mitch Albom though. It was a very touching book and reminds you to not take those you love for granted. Then again, I don't think you could go wrong with Mitch Albom.

Have a couple more books to read. Shall try to go through them soon. They've been sitting on that shelf for far too long.
