All the baking and stressing over baking was getting to our heads and we were becoming desperate to get away from it all. So, the weekend trip was nice.
The getting to Rompin wasn't so nice though. The drive was long and winding (Kuala Pilah) and we got lost a couple of times. But the beach more than made up for it.
I'm not much of a beach person, but I enjoyed flying my kite on the beach and playing with sand with the bug. I even took her close to the sea to feel the splash. (much to the chagrin of the husband; The red flag was up) The bug got a bit freaked by the violent splashes and wanted to return to her sand playing.
I even rented a bicycle and cycled along the beach. The breeze was wonderful and cool and it was nice to be on a bicycle again. I am feeling the after effects of riding on bumpy paving though. My bottom hurts every time I sit down.
I rained quite a bit while we were there so we couldn't do much most of the time, but what little time we did spend outside was great and refreshing.
The bug even went into the swimming pool twice. She's now even darker despite there not being much sun.
We got back today at 5. The drive back was just as long but we're glad to be back home sleeping on our own mattress. (I removed my bed a long time ago) I'll leave you with photos.

ooo it looks like fun. and it looks hot, i'm a bit jealous. hahaha~ it's still below 15C here, despite the fact that spring will officially come in 3 days.
i know what you mean about the bicycle ride. it's such fun, innit? i love riding my bike everywhere. when i first followed hubby here after the wedding omg dia cakap i naik beskal macam orang mabuk hahaha. i think i still do.
the bug looks so cute. geram la rasa nak cubit je pipi dia. i can't wait til summer comes coz i wanna go to the beach in okinawa.
a bit jealous now. my house is near the ocean here but there's no beach so it sucks. and the water's dark and scary looking and deep. *shudders* i have a fear of not being able to see what's beneath me.
hehe.. you better not go into the water then. since you're living in Japan, there's probably some sort of monster lurking below. Hehehe.. but at least ultraman will come save the day??

The photos are really deceiving. It rained most of saturday so we had to stay indoors. The sun came out a bit after lunch then it rained again. But the minute the rain let up again, we all went into the pool. (even though it was drizzling)
The sun finally came out in the evening and we all could go out and play.
It was fun, but now it's back to baking, icing and flower making. hahaha..

Omg! Cuppacakes? Really?
Went there on Monday. Although the cupcakes do look nice, the taste isn't so much. The cake is too dense and the mint flavoring is too artificial.
My comments may be biased, but I have 3 other colleagues that gave unsolicited testimonials saying the same. They prefer Babycakes cupcakes.
