Oh look! Two posts in one day. I'm on a roll!!
Was involved in an accident last Saturday. You can blame the ever-flooding roads of Shah Alam for that. Shah Alam should be renamed to Bandar Banjir. All it takes is 1/2 and hour of heavy rain to get the roads flooded. Bugger.
The accident happened 2 junctions before we reached home. I hit the back of ayah's car that was being driven by the husband. We were on our way back from workshop. The kancil was sent for servicing earlier that day. Long story short, the road was flooded, Malaysian drivers turn to blabbering idiots when raining, the breaks on the Kancil wouldn't work and I hit the back of the Honda.
Thankfully, I was quite a distance away from the Honda and I wasn't going that fast so the collision wasn't that hard. It was hard enough to break the brackets on of the bumper though. The Honda is in the shop now and the husband said it's hopefully going to cost less than a thousand. That's good news, since we'll be paying for it.
The Kancil needs to be sent in too. But that will be done once the Honda is back.
This is my first accident. I've never hit a car before, till now. Guess I should be grateful it wasn't bad and that it was the husband and not anyone else. I don't think I can handle hitting anyone else. I'd probably just end up a crying mess. Not to say that I didn't cry when I hit the back of the Honda. I did. It wasn't pretty. But I think I've established the fact that it doesn't take much to make me cry so there's nothing shocking about that.
I hit the brakes, the car wouldn't stop, so all I could do was scream Yang!! and wait for the "crash" sound. I muttered "stupid stupid stupid, why did you stop, you're not suppose to stop in water." and cried. Haha. The car in front of the husband had stopped in the middle of the flooded road for no apparent reason other than for being an idiot so there was nothing much to be done about that.
Oh well. At least the bug wasn't with us or she would have been shocked. The Kancil isn't looking so bad. Kudos to Perodua for building such a great car. The alarm won't work anymore though. *sigh*
We escaped unharmed though. Although the husband's neck is hurting from the whiplash. I suppose that will go away soon.
So that's my recap of the accident. If there's one thing to learn from this, it's probably that we should try to stay off the roads during heavy rain because Malaysian drivers become blabbering idiots when it rains. It's not hard to spot one, just look out for the car with the hazard lights on.
