It's not me, It's the browser.

So I finally fixed the problem. I changed my blog template. It wasn't showing properly on IE as I found out from my friends. I do hope this is the reason I'm not getting any comments or messages from my peers. Haha.. Anything to satisfy my ego.

Anyway, that aside, It is now working much better on Internet Explorer. Explorer is so annoying really. I mainly using safari (web browser for the Mac) or firefox when I'm on the PC. My blog looked fine on both browsers, that's why I never knew such a problem existed. Unbeknownst to me, it was not showing properly on the Explorer browser. Which brings me to wonder, why is IE so rigid? Why wasn't it made to be more flexible, to be able to troubleshoot such problems? If Firefox and Safari can, why not IE?

I've stopped using IE for the longest time because I use an iBook in my bedroom and all the pcs at home have Firefox installed in them. I can see why IE is feeling threatened over the rising popularity of the Firefox browser. I for one, never had a problem with my blog not showing or not loading completely because I don't use IE. I found out through my friends, Jo and Mable recently that they couldn't view my blog. It was then that I decided to ferret out the problem. it was the browser. Dang.

Since my current template (then), was not IE friendly, I decided to use the templates provided for by Blogger. I'm sure those templates would be safe, right? Wrong. Yes, my blog was now showing on IE, but no, it still wasn't right. The sidebar, was at the bottom of my blog. Thus rendering null its name, sidebar. Initially, I thought it as because of the template itself, so I changed templates several times to try and solve the problem, but to no avail. Sometimes, I'd get tricked into thinking it was all right cause I was viewing my blog on firefox, instead of IE.

I finally figured out the problem, some of my images were too big. So I had to resize all my images to make the template work. Finally, after painstakingly resizing and re-uploading my images, the problem was solved. The sidebar, finally lived up to it's name of being called a sidebar. I still have a few photos I wish to upload but as it is tedious, I am not in a rush to do so.

I really hope the people at microsoft realize what a pain in the butt IE is and make haste in resolving this matter. If firefox and safari can do it, why can't you? After all, a major percentage of computer users are microsoft users, why not spend a little more time in fine tuning your product? It wouldn't kill you to make IE a little more intuitive, a little less annoying. Yes, it is said that we bloggers should make sure that our blogs are viewable on all browsers, but when my blog is not loading properly on only ONE browser, can you really blame me??
